In the book of Luke It says that, “Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” As I read this it stuck in my head that I spend very little time away from crowds, or in any type of solitude. So my next thought was:
If It Is Good Enough For Jesus Why Don’t I Do It?
My answer was simple, I have never thought about it long enough to consider taking a Saturday to get away by myself. Trust me, I’m not making this into a law that says we all should do it because Jesus did.
Back to my original question, why don’t you get away? If you really want to do something, you will do it. That is the simplest form of accomplishment. If you are just so stressed out that you can’t give up a minute of time, then you are the person that needs this the most. No one is going to make you do it, and no one is going to stop you if you want to go.
Jesus was all God and All man. If he needed time away to talk to God then each of us that are just men or women need time away to talk to God.
I have made a goal for this year to get away for two weekends, to pray and study. I don’t think it will be easy, but I know it will get easier the more I do it.

Hm, I am having a life of exile, sort of. I am a freelancer, so I don't go to work and sit behind PC most time of the day. The only few people I communicate to are my wife, relatives, and one friend. And when I want to relax, I go to wilderness or to the city streets, where you are always pretty alone too. So… I do not think this is a bad lifestyle. I find it pretty comforting.
While I am generally uncertain of the divine, I do agree that it's good to get away sometimes.
