Love Is Not…

  • Standing on the street corner with a bull horn
  • Asking someone how they are feeling
  • Handing out tracts
  • Protesting abortion clinics
  • Putting an ichthus (Jesus Fish) on your car
  • Leaving tracts in public restrooms, atm machines, windshields, or anywhere else
  • Talking churchy i.e., “Brother so and so how are you?” “Lord be with you sister Bertha Better Than You.”
  • Building Buildings
  • Giving 10% to the church then leaving the guy hanging asking for a buck in the parking lot
  • Having your church secretary field all your calls so you don’t have to talk to people you don’t want to
  • Buying Christian music
  • Writing a blog
  • Asking the cashier at the gas station if she goes to church, then telling her she needs to
  • Telling people they are going to hell if they don’t go to church
  • Protesting soldiers funerals
  • Saying God hates fags
  • Saying God killed everyone on 9/11 because this country turned away from him
  • Turning away people who come to your church looking for help
  • Just being friendly to get praise

Love is patient and kind, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered. It doesn’t keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Love never fails! (1Corinthians 13)
